The highly frustrated spin system is one of the central problems in condensed mater physics, it is also a challenging one. To attack this problem, we introduce the algorithm based on the mixed PEPS (mPEPS), which is a new type of tensor network. We use the famous Kitaev model on infinite honeycomb lattice, which can be exactly solved, as a benchmark. With limited parameters and finite scaling, our calculation results are in good agreement with the exact results, which imply the efficiency of our algorithm. After the benchmark, we move on to the Heisenberg-Kitaev model, which was proposed to describe the effective magnetic momentum interaction in Iridate Na2IrO3 and has the potential to realize the spin liquid phase. However, our calculations suggest that the gapless spin liquid phase is not so robust at the thermodynamic limit, and thus it is very difficult to be observed in this material.
